Access control

  • Access control devices

A number of RFID readers are available for different architectural and functional requirements. All ATS readers are hardware and software compatible and can easily be exchanged due to new requirements. The main difference is the frequency of 13.6MHz or 125kHz used. The 125kHz readers have a slightly larger reading range of up to 10cm, but require somewhat more complex antennas in the reader and in the access card.

All new ATS readers with 13.6MHz support the most important high security RFID card types. In addition to the older Mifare-Classic, AES encrypted Mifare-DESfire and LEGIC-Advant formats with a read range of up to 4cm are supported. These can save access data records from different manufacturers on one card and thus enable greater flexibility in use for different applications. In order not to have to assign a new card number if a card is lost, the readers support UID verification. The UID (serial number) is used in this case as the version number.

All readers have 2 monitored inputs for alarm sensors, latch contact or door monitoring and an interface for encrypted control of a relay module. The readers are supplied with data and power via the encrypted bus line. Some readers contain additional functions such as PIN keypad, touch light switch, room temperature & humidity sensor as well as various biometric recognition methods.

    Brochure:

DIGIcontrol-PLD is a new milestone in extreme high security RFID DESFire & LEGIC-Advant access control readers from ATS.
Based on PalmSecure technology from Fujitsu, the DIGIcontrol-PLD verifies the stored palm data of the ID card with the user’s palm. After reading the card with the users palm template (<1kB) an orange LED ask the user to place his palm 5cm above the scanner. Within a second the device captures a near infrared image of the unique palm pattern, converts the image into a biometric template and matches it against the template stored on the RFID card. The result of the comparison is send over the ATS-IBB/S to the floor controller, which decides access allowed or not. This is shown by a green or red LED to the user. No biometric footprint or residual trace is left behind after authentication. The biometric template is only stored on the users own RFID card.
